Apple Watch 2.0 may come with a magnetic wristband. With the online world filled with rumors or speculations around Apple’s next smart phones, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6c, it appears that the entire globe and even this organization may have ignored the famous Apple Watch.
Several pictures attached to recent official papers show that the innovative Milanese Loop May be connected to other gadgets, like the iMac, MacBook or even to a fridge.
As it is the case with the majority of Apple’s patents, the idea that the producer has registered a product does not really mean that it is definitely creating this version of the Apple Watch strap, but the system is fascinating.
The wristband is said to have a pair of wrapping options, so it will have two individual straps, with each part incorporating flexible materials with included magnets that offer opposite polarities. These straps are expected to be malleable enough that whenever the smart watch is not used, they can be curved in the other direction.
By wrapping or coiling around the device, the bands are basically creating a case that can secure the frame and face of the wearable.
The strap can keep the watch steady on the wrist, but it can be turned around for some nice positions that keep it away from nasty scrapes. Given its versatility and effectiveness, it may be difficult to see the company passing up this chance to present an efficient and great looking band to the public.
For a gadget like the Apple Watch, particularly the Sport version with Ion glass, an extra layer of coating could presumably save large amounts of money in repair prices. Furthermore, the protective band would be great for covering the wearable’s sensitive optical pulse rate indicator.
Apple is referring to an alternative embodiment where the magnetic elements could be used to place a user’s device to a bigger metallic surface, like a fridge or notebook. As mentioned before, other suggestions include a way to fold the band onto itself, making a wearable stand.
In the end, this is just a patent, so it does not really suggest that Apple is going back to developing its smart watch and is already creating the next famous wearable. According to various tech sources, the second generation of the Apple Watch may be released in Apr this year.
In order to take care of such issues, the company has arrived with a fix to allow people to protect their smart watches against random damages: a magnetic wristband.
