A long negotiation between CBS and Dish Network failed badly on Friday. The talks were going on since last six months.
The CBS programming stopped in numerous major television markets such as New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago and Dallas. It signifies that around 14 million household experienced interruption in programming of CBS.
It is not the first time when CBS TV Stations are blocked. Earlier, a disagreement between Time Warner Cable and CBS also caused interruption in the programming of CBS.
The disturbance in CBS network will definitely affect the NCAA basketball game and other football games. However, the CBS and Dish network refused to inform whether the Sunday’s NFL games will be affected or not.
CBS reported in a press release that the satellite television service was reluctant to sign an agreement. The deal will allow CBS to offer its services to its subscribers.
Moreover, CBS claimed that Dish was unwilling to accept the good faith conditions of the company. The broadcast satellite service provider rebuffed for negotiations since last few months. However, it became serious about the issue from the beginning of this week.
On the other hand, Dish has not yet said anything in response to the above statement of CBS.
The fee is the major reason behind the dispute between the two. CBS asked for a large amount of fee from Dish for carrying its T.V station.
Additionally, CBS and Dish are currently involved in a court case related to the satellite broadcaster’s digital video recorder through which users can easily skip commercials.
