It is certainly a really difficult task for an actor to play a real person’s character in biopic. It is even more complex to play that character when the person is alive and really famous. It significantly increases the amount of pressure on the actor.
Eddie Redmayne experienced the similar pressure when she played the role of Stephen Hawking. He is a renowned cosmologist, physicist and astronomer. Redmayne incredibly portrayed the entire life of Hawking from marriage, love affair till illness in “The theory of Everything”.
The performance of Redmayne gave some of the best review of his career. The critics called him “brilliant”, “knock out” and much more. Surprisingly, the New York Times Magazine published that “The Theory of Everything” does not worth the astounding performance of Eddie Redmayne.
On the other hand, Eddi Remayne expressed that he met the astronomer five days before the beginning of his shoots. It was certainly a great experience to meet the man on whom the entire film is based. It was indeed a great privilege that came with a large amount of burden. Therefore, he tried to learn how to imitate the well known theoretical physicists. He used to spend several hours in front of mirror and mimic the facial expression of Hawking.
Moreover, Remayne informed that he really taught himself some science in order to act. It was a really hard for a man who was quite incompetent in science.
