The Facebook Inc intends to introduce a tool which is particularly designed for the natural disasters. The feature will allow users to inform their friend and family about their safety in any natural disaster.
Facebook named this tool as “Safety Check” and will shortly launch it all around the world for the users of the social networking site. A phone is the only requirement to begin the function of this feature.
The tool runs with the help of a notification button on their devices. Afterwards, the social networking site will find out the locations and will show the last location of that person.
The user merely has to click on the “Iam Safe” option of that feature in order to notify their friends and relatives. Moreover, if this feature found that the user is present in the affected area then it will immediately send a notification asking whether they are in a safe place or not.
The disaster message panel of Facebook presented this innovative idea to the CEO of Facebook. The board was formed in 2011 at the time of the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. The disaster left an impact on nearly 12.5 million people of Japan.
Mark Zukerburg launched this feature Japan since the country is still going through the after effects of tsunami.
