NASA launched Department of defense rocket from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Wallops Flight Facility.
Goddard Space Center controls the Wallops Island that is located on the Eastern Shores of Virginia. Thus far, the department approximately launched 16,000 different missions from this place. It played a vital role in some of the major flight researches. Furthermore, the Department of Defense is also quite active in other beneficial educational plans and strategies for the natives of that region.
Moreover, the island of wallops is also the center of Mid Atlantic Regional Spaceport that is another space launch facility.
Recently, research laboratory lifted off Terrier Lynx suborbital rocket at 9:30 p.m on Saturday. However, the department planned to release the rocket two weeks ago, but unfortunately it faced a delay.
The rocket sent off along with a heavy load of research apparatus. The department of Defense wanted to keep this mission a bit secretive. Therefore, it asked the authorities not to release live telecast of this rocket on the internet or television. Moreover, DOD requested the officials to keep the center close on the launch day of this rocket.
Unfortunately, the department was unable to hide this rocket from the people who live close by Chesapeake Bay area. The event was pretty evident to the nearby residents at the time of 12:27 AM.
