For all the gamers out there, Cloud Imperium Games is giving a free card to play ‘Star Citizen‘ this week.
What does this mean, exactly? It means that the company’s latest project is now available to download and play for free until February 5th, allowing fans to experience parts of the multi-genre space simulator without having to pay out the cash.
According to Cloud Imperium Games’s data, some people have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars for the privilege of playing ‘Star Citizen’ early. Everyone else can try it for free during this week.
In what concerns the acces to the features, Roberts Space Industries website writes that the company has enabled Free Fly on all accounts, allowing any player to jump straight into the action. The Free Fly event gives everyone access to three unique parts of the ‘Star Citizen’ experience.
These three parts are: Star Citizen Alpha 2.1.2, Arena Commander and Social Module.
Star Cizitez Alpha 2.1.2 is also known as Crusader or the ‘mini-PU’. It represents the centre of the empire that the famous game company is building. This part features multiple space stations and environments, missions, places to explore and – the most important part – Alpha 2.1.2 is a sneak-peak to a larger world within the game.
Arena Commander is a so-called ‘game within the game’, which was designed with the main purpose of developing the flight mechanics and the ship combat balance. This game mode allows players to take on human opponents or an AI swarm in single seat fighter.
Social Module – as the name suggest, can be explained as being a ‘cafeteria’ of the ‘Star Citizen’ players. Here, they can chat and interact with others, while exploring landing zones.
For anyone interested, the acces to all of the above is really easy. In order to gain access to the free trial, the user has to simply register for an account on the website, or log into their current account.
The Free Fly accounts will have access to three different ship types: the Hornet F7C military fighter, the Aurora LN starter and the Mustang Delta interceptor.
For those of you who don’t know much about this game, ‘Star Citizen’ has been highly anticipated ever since it became the most successfully crowd-funded project 3 years ago. Nowadays, the project has reached over $100 million in funding. The statistics show that the popularity of the game secure its world record placement.
This free card to play ‘Star Citizen’ this week can be regarded as a way of introducing new players to the game and allowing those who couldn’t afford to buy one of Star Citizen‘s privacy packages a chance to experience the open-world gameplay.
The game’s full release is expected sometime this year, for PC and Linux, with Oculus Rift support.
