One of the most popular games of the smartphone era is without a doubt Angry Birds. The premise of the game is as simple as it gets: one has to destroy some green piggies catapulting birds into their buildings. It may sound uncomplicated but some levels are very hard to complete. The good news is that the sequel to 2009’s first Angry Birds has just been released. Angry Birds 2 promises some new exciting action, cooler graphics and challenging new levels.
The new Angry Birds game, just as the original one, was developed by Rovio and according to the company’s representatives, Angry Birds 2 will take the players back to the original set-up of the first game, but with improved graphics and an even more engaging game play.
The first Angry Birds game was about launching birds using a slingshot into the fortresses of the green pigs in order to tear them down. The first game was followed by a series of sequels, like the Angry Birds Go, which was a racing game, and Angry Birds Transformers, which was a shooting game. However, none of the sequels were true to the story of the first game, which is why Angry Birds 2 is considered the “real” sequel to the first game.
Unlike some of the previous versions, the new Angry Birds 2 features background music that changes as the player progresses in the game and goes to another level. Previous Angry Birds games had background themes that were inspired by the theme in the title. For example, for Angry Birds Star Wars, the background was inspired by the cult sci-fi movie series.
Rovio said that Angry Birds 2 will deliver a long game play with multiple levels and an intricate story line. The game begins at Feathery Hills and moves to Pork City and Enchanted Woods. The players must first complete the previous level in order to get to the next one, they cannot choose a specific location when they wish.
While previous versions of the game offered no more than 100 missions, Angry Birds 2 comes with more than 240 levels of exciting adventures. Angry Birds 2 looks more animated that the previous versions and engages the player more. Destroying the pigs’ fortresses look more like in an action game, with lots of action and explosions. The new Angry Birds 2 can be downloaded for free from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
