A grocery list devised by an Indian woman for her husband went instantly viral after it was posted on social media. The woman claims that the ‘husband-proof’ shopping list prevents the ‘epic fights’ over the produce her man is bringing home.
Era Golwalkar, 29, said in an interview that the list prevents a ‘weekly problem’. The woman, who works as an IT specialist, recalled that after she and her husband Gaurav got married they agreed on splitting the chores.
The man even said he is ready to learn to cook, but he had zero experience with activities that actually enabled him to cook edible meals. Era recalls that when she first asked him to buy vegetables, the operation turned out to be an ‘epic fail.’ The scenario repeated itself the second and the third time.
Era suspected vendors purposely took advantage of her husband’s lack of experience and sold him spoiled fruit and vegetables. So, every time it was her husband turn to do the shopping the couple had a fight.
Gaurav even snapped pictures of the things he planned to buy to get Era’s approval. So, she knew it was the time to come up with a solution.
The Fail-Proof Grocery List
She crafted a painfully detailed grocery list which included drawings of the items to be purchased. The list also contains helpful tips like spinach should not have holes in it or potatoes should be medium-sized.
The list helped Gaurav buy the right stuff and make his wife happy. Era decided to help other husbands and posted the list online. The reactions were varied, but most women could relate to the things written down. Era claims the instructions can be used even by kids when helping their mothers with the shopping.
Men, on the other hand, either laughed over the list or felt the woman was maybe a little too condescending. Era admitted that not all wives need a husband-proof shopping list, but for her husband, it worked miracles.
