High School Substitute Teacher Tried to Get the Student Drunk
According to the police report, the individual under scrutiny is Manuel Gamboa, 35, a former substitute teacher at the Dekaney High School. Gamboa is accused of performing oral sex on a 17-year-old student without his consent.
The events that led to Gamboa being arrested began on the 3rd of June when the man offered the teen a couple of beers. Since the individual was not accustomed to drinking alcohol, he became dizzy. Gamboa then asked him to accompany him to his house.
Court documents suggest that during his tenure at the Dekaney High School, Gamboa was held in high regards by his students, especially by the 17-year-old who told the authorities that the man also helped him with his homework.
On that night, the student followed his teacher home, without any knowledge of might have happened to him. The 17-year-old told the authorities that once inside Gamboa’s home, he told the substitute teacher that he were not feeling well and asked if he could lie down somewhere.
Gamboa directed him to the living room’s coach and told him that he could spend the night there. After waking up, the student claims to see his teacher standing near him and, upon checking his phone he saw sexually explicit photos of Gamboa performing oral sex while he was sleeping.
The student immediately notified the authorities and was taken to the hospital for an exam. A DNA analysis revealed that the student had traces of foreign DNA in his groin area. The high school substitute teacher was later arrested and charged with sexual assault and having improper relationships with a student.
