As such, the gaming headset maker will be joining Logitech G, which is the company’s gaming division. This will become effective once the purchase will be completed. Also, the gaming headsets firm is likely to continue on its current path, as Logitech doesn’t seem to be looking to restructure it.
In the Logitech G blog post, the company stated that Astro would continue focusing on “designing products for console gaming”. For its part, Logitech’s gaming division will be looking to develop and build the “most advanced PC gaming gear”, one that can be used no matter the platform.
In a statement, the Logitech G VP, Ujesh Desai, declared that “[Astro] It’s a perfect complement to Logitech G’s focus on PC gaming and we couldn’t be more excited; we love the team, the brand, and the products. Together, we want to make gameplay even more fun for gamers everywhere.”
The acquisition is expected to close sometime by the end of August 2017. Logitech will reportedly most likely start feeling its effects in the fiscal year 2018. Thanks to Astro Gaming, Logitech could start catering to a broader range of the gaming accessory market and its needs.
