Microsoft Says that Its Windows Store Is Growing by the Day

microsoft Windows StoreMicrosoft’s Windows 10 operating system is now working on more than g 250 million gadgets. That is probably the most interesting figure announced by organization these days at the Build developer meeting.

This means that the software maker has seen an increase of over 50 million units since the beginning of the year. However, they did not offer any details about the variety of games and applications provided in its Windows Store.

A couple of years ago, the Windows Mobile store along with the regular store had over half a million of applications combined. In 2015, the organization renewed these reports with another figure, saying that are almost 670,000 applications for smart phones, tablets and desktop computers.

These days, Microsoft’s most important event of 2016, which is also an app designer conference, appears to be an ideal occasion to discuss about these numbers. The Windows 10 OS is doing very well and the company often says that its Windows Store has more utilization in comparison to past editions of the platform.

Microsoft’s  universal Windows system allows designers to create a single application that changes depending on the gadget and screen  size. This means that one program can run on Windows 10 desktops, tablets, smart phones, gaming consoles and virtual reality headsets.

Even if just 100 applications were included every day, with a simple calculation we find out that there may be more than 800,000 applications in Windows Store thus far. Another possibility is that the limit is getting very near to one million apps and Microsoft just wants to wait for this psychological barrier to make the announcement.

In fact, both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store have reaches 1.5 million apps during the second semester of 2015. However, if it has great information to present at its tech conference held this week, Microsoft might be waiting for its end to do it.

A few weeks ago, Hulu released its dedicated Windows application for cellular phones, PCs and tablets. These past days, Twitter implemented the UWP platform, moving its application to Microsoft’s Windows 10 too.

Back in Oct, Microsoft said that it will offer Instagram and Facebook universal applications, but after all this time, users are still waiting for these to appear. The organization affirmed these days that they are arriving, along with the Facebook Messenger application to complement them, but did not offer any other major news.
