Nissan wants to help people drive cars with their mind
Many vehicle manufacturers have tried to find ways to create better driverless cars, but Nissan came up with an innovative idea. Instead of taking drivers out of cars, the company created a technology which allows them to enjoy the ride while sitting a little more relaxed. The technology, called brain-to-vehicle (B2V), reads the drivers’ minds and controls the car according to it.
The technology reads the brainwaves of the drivers and controls the car
Nissan lives in the future with this exclusive technology which lets drivers control the car with their mind. Once they step into the vehicle, they had to put on a cap full of sensors which read their brainwaves. Then, with the help of an AI, the system can predict what they would do during the ride. It can choose to make a turn or brake, and can predict the actions less than one second before the actual reaction of the drivers.
Usually, when people think about driving in the future, they take the driver out of the equation. Nissan thought it shouldn’t steal all the fun from them, so this mind-controlling technique makes everything more exciting and innovative for the driver.
Nissan doesn’t want to rob drivers of the pleasure of driving
Nissan is well-known for pioneering a lot of unique driving technologies. The company is already promoting the green system called Leaf EV, and a semi-automatic driving technique called Pro Pilot. Even when the self-driving industry will peak, it still wants to give drivers a chance to remain in their cars. Lucian Gheorghe, the senior researcher at Nissan, explained how they wanted to keep the activity fun.
“Nissan is the very first manufacturer that is bringing real-time brain activity in vehicles as a means for enhancing driving pleasure.”
Dealing with the part where vehicles have to be controlled by a computer is quite tough, explaining why the self-driving industry is not fully developed yet. On the other hand, promoting this B2V system can still offer us semi-autonomous cars without taking the fun away from the driver.
