An Oklahoma City mother has recently been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. The woman who allegedly feigned insanity savagely assaulted her 33-year-old daughter and shoved a crucifix down the man’s throat. The daughter was discovered dead in the city.
Oklahoma City Mother Believed that Daughter Was Possessed
According to the woman’s affidavit, the events that led to her arrest began to unfold on Thursday 2016. While at home with her 33-year-old daughter, Juanita Gomez, 51, became enraged and attacked the woman.
Believing that she was possessed by evil spirits, the woman took a crucifix with beads and shoved it down the woman’s passage, obstructing her airways. The Oklahoma City mother told the authorities that she watched her daughter agonizing and after her death, she arranged her arms and legs in the figure of a cross.
The lifeless body of Geneva Gomez, Juanita Gomez’s daughter, was later discovered by the woman’s boyfriend who alerted the authorities. Gomez was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The woman’s autopsy revealed that her mother shoved the crucifix so hard down her throat, that the woman drowned in her own blood. Also, upon examination, the coroner discovered that the woman had sustained massive trauma and that both her hands were swollen.
When confronted, the Oklahoma City mother told the investigators that she repeatedly punched her daughter and that the swollenness was the sign of their struggle. Moreover, the investigation revealed that after watching her daughter pass away, the woman began to clean her body as if to symbolize her spiritual cleansing.
Although the woman declared that her daughter was possessed and that she was battling a demon, the psychiatrists determined that the woman was sane during her daughter’s attack and fit to be trialed for first-degree murder.
