Great news die-hard Lara Croft fans! According to the Square Enix game publisher, the Rise of the Tomb Raider is coming sooner than expected. The publisher said that the new Tomb Raider, game, which is a sequel to the one that was released in 2013, will first be available on Xbox console, starting November 2015, more exactly on the 10th. After that, the game will be released on PC and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016.
According to Square Enix’s official statement, the new Tomb Raider game will be available only on Xbox One and Xbox 360 for about a year after its release. After the exclusive contract with Xbox expires, the game will also make its way on PlayStation 4 in November 2016.
The previous Tomb Raider game provided the players with a background on how Lara Croft started her adventures. The new one, Rise of the Tomb Raider will return to the action-packed game featuring the popular and fearless heroine that players adore.
In the upcoming incarnation of the game, Lara will be exploring the dangerous and remote Siberian regions searching for the secret of eternal life. Lana will be fighting an evil organization called Trinity that will try to stop her with any means. She will also have to make use of her survival skills and wits, form new friendships and embrace the fact that she is the Tomb Raider and that is her destiny.
The publisher announced that the latest Tomb Raider game will come to Windows 10 and Steam in the first part of 2016 and on PlayStation 4 later next year. But the ones who get to enjoy the latest adventures of Lana Croft will be the Xbox users on November 10.
Square Enix said the game will be first released on Xbox One and Xbox 360 and then on PS4. Crystal Dynamics, a famous game developer, is currently working on making the game available for other platforms.
According to the creators of the game, players will get to experience extreme action moments, will have to fight and conquer hostile environments and explore deadly tombs in order to survive.
The Tomb Raider franchise has been very successful, both financially and critically, selling more than 42 million copies of its game worldwide. Also, the movie adaptation starring Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie as Lana Croft has made more than $300 million at the box office.
