Ryan Mallet tried to stay out of negotiations about his contract, but he did make one thing clear that he wanted to stay in Texas at all costs. Everyone worked together to ensure that happened and it was announced Tuesday that the Texans planned to resign Mallet. Mallet had a desire to stay in Texas and he felt like his performance last season was worth keeping him with the Texans.
During the season, Mallet managed to complete 41 out of 75 attempts even with a torn pectoral muscle. He is currently getting back to a healthy physique that should help him play even better in the upcoming 2015-2016 season. It is likely that Mallet will be joined by another quarterback, Brian Hoyer who is expected to sign with the team as well. Mallet’s goal is to lead the Texans to the playoffs in the upcoming season.
