A group of researchers discovered a new gene regulation technique. The new method will allow thought-specific brainwaves to manage the transformation of genes into protein.
The experts were inspired with the concept of “Mindflex”, a game in which players wear a headset along with a forehead sensor. Players use their brainwaves to control a thought. In addition, the forehead sensor is utilized to record brainwaves which they transfer into the playing environment.
The scientists asked the volunteers to wear a brainwave recording headset. The experts connected the headset to an electrical current generator. The volunteer triggered the gene chip through thinking in a similar manner. It forced the gene chip to release close to an infra-red LED light. Afterwards, these activated light sensitive cells turned on a flow of signals.
Furthermore, the Swiss experts examined these brainwaves and passed them to a controller through Bluetooth device. The controller managed an entire field generator which produces a special kind of electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field provides a plant in an induction current.
Martin Fussenegger, Professor of Biotechnology and Bioengineering informed that this is the first time scientists exploited the brainwaves. These brainwaves generate the expression of a gene that is completely centered on the kind of thought.
Moreover, Fusseneggar expressed that it was a dream of scientist to control gene expression with the power of thought
