The Travis County authorities have recently tackled an attempted robbery case involved two 17-year-old and a 16-year-old. While robbing their victim, one of the suspects discharged a shotgun, hitting the man in the face and shoulders. All three suspects are now in custody.
One of the Robbers Had a BB Gun
On Saturday, just before 5 p.m., the Travis County deputies responding to a 911 call on 1700 block of Lancer Lane. The caller told the authorities that someone had discharged a weapon at least several times.
Upon arriving at the scene, the law enforcement officer took into custody Orion Dewey-Haagensen and Jesus Corrales, both 17. A third perpetrator was apprehended the same day. The authorities refused to disclose his identity as he is 16-year-old.
According to the official report, the victim of this attempted robbery was a 21-year-old man who knew of the attackers. The man’s affidavit states that on that day, the victim was chatting on Snapchat with one of them when he was asked if he’s home.
The man said that he is. Hours later, the victim received a house call from three masked individuals, all of them armed.
Robber Shot Victim Three Times with Shotgun
Upon entering his home, one of the perpetrators held the man at gunpoint and forced him to relinquish his valuables. At one point, the man grabbed the suspect’s gun, a shotgun, and fought with him.
During the scuffle, the perpetrator fired the weapon, hitting the man in the face. Seconds later, the individual fired a second shot, hitting the man on his shoulder. The man managed to escape the house but was shot a third time while running.
Hearing the scuffle, several bystanders jumped the individuals and managed to subdue the two 17-year-olds. The 16-year-old suspect managed to flee but was caught later by the authorities.
According to the police, three weapons were recovered from the perpetrators: the shotgun used to wound the 21-year-old man, a knife, and a BB gun.
