A heartwarming story about a lost dog and her owner comes all the way from Austin. A woman from Austin drove all night from her hometown to Nebraska in order to be reunited with her bow-wow chum, whom she lost almost two years ago.
Stolen Dog Reunited with Owner After Two Years
Robin, the owner of Bowser, a Saint Bernard, recalls that almost two years ago, she went in her yard to check on Bowser, but the dog was nowhere to be found. She tried calling the local shelters, putting out missing posters and ranting about her dog’s disappearance on social media.
Unfortunately, Bowser was nowhere to be found, and Robin had to come to terms with the facts that her friend was gone for good. Two years later, the owner of the stolen dog received a phone call from the Nebraska Humane Society telling her that Bowser was found and that he has a new owner.
Not wanting to give up on her bud, Robin drove all night from Austin all the way to Omaha, Nebraska in order to see Bowser. The woman recalled driving to snow, sleet, and rain, but that none of that mattered compared to the perspective of seeing her bud again.
According to the Nebraska Humane Society, Bowser was seen aimlessly roaming the streets and brought him into the shelter, where they’ve used his microchip to track down Robin. Moreover, it would seem that Bowser’s most recent owner, a woman called Kathy, bought the dog on Craigslist.
Both Robin and the Nebraska Humane Society staff believe that the person who sold Bowser on Craigslist must be the same one who stole him from Robin’s yard.
The woman and the stolen dog arrived safely at home, where they can now make up for all the time they’ve lost.
