Steam Offers Major Discounts for Its Game Bundles

March 3, 2016 By Jason Leathers Leave a Comment

Steam-valveSteam made a decision to upgrade its assortment of Steam packages that may now allow players to get discount rates when they own some games. With the recent costs plan, people who are buying a bundle of items can be sure they would have access to all titles that have not yet been added to their selection.

While Valve’s statement has not been published, information about their decision was first released by various sources in the gaming industry. They also launched some screenshots in order to demonstrate the different package prices arriving from three individual customer lists.

According to the company, clients who already own some of their games found in the package will be permitted to pay just for and get the products that they did not add to their list yet. The publisher considers that, thanks to their new costs plan, players will have a great opportunity to “complete” the collection.

In the meantime, they will also use the offer by buying the remaining games in the package. Right now, gamers can now receive products with discounted prices from only a few authorized online stores. If they want to find out if some of these are currently getting discounts, the website displays a large green discount icon.

This icon changes based upon on whether a customer already owns some of these games in the collection. If the customer does not have any title in the list yet, the discount available on the site will be shown at 75%.

In some screenshots presented by these sources, the green package discount icon was seen with a more affordable selling price for those accounts that already owned at least one of the publisher’s games. The cost was reduced even more, at least $8 cheaper, when the user already had several of bought titles.

The traditional “Must Buy Together” packages will be shown along with their respective marking. Other titles can be put into the package as rewards and as unique add-ons. Included in these bundles are soundtracks, art guides and other stuff that the player may buy in deluxe editions.

The new package costs could truly make it simpler for PC players to find the games that they like without worrying about getting second copies of a current title. Game designers and marketers will somehow perceive this as a method to cut earnings but this loss could be balanced out at least partly by the growth in the buying of packages.
