SpaceX Forth Rocket Successful Landing

SpaceX Forth Rocket Successful Landing

This weekend, SpaceX managed to land another rocket smoothly. The mission’s purpose was to deliver to Earth’s orbit a communication satellite that would serve Africa, India, and Thailand. The whole event was broadcasted on company’s website.

Elon Musk declared that space rides will become a routine. However, at this moment, rocket launches and landings are still dramatic and produce a lot of excitement.

At the start of this mission, company representatives were reluctant on the success of the landing. The rocket had to travel through extreme velocities and to experience high heat when re-entering the atmosphere. Engineers thought it would be a difficult landing.

Things turned out just fine for Elon Musk and his team. The SpaceX rocket took off from Cape Canaveral at 5.39 in the evening and landed again on an ocean ship close to Florida. Even if engines were at full capacity, the rocket reached the surface in perfect posture.

In the last couple of years, SpaceX had tried to optimize the process of landing so as to produce minimum damage to the spacecraft. In the past, rocket landings ended up with ocean collisions. The spacecraft could neither be recovered nor reused.

Today’s plans are to create a technology that will survive after completing the space travel. Continuous efforts have been made to optimize the landing process. All these efforts resulted in four successful landings for SpaceX.

The first landing was in December 2015, at Cape Canaveral. Two other sea landings followed the winter premiere, the second of them taking place just at the beginning of this month. Again, SpaceX was pessimistic about the landing. Even if the rocket reached the sea platform at the very last moment, the landing turned out to be safe.

The conditions of this weekend’s landing were similar to those from the beginning of May. This fourth success proves that the issues experienced on the previous sea landing were accidental and easy to prevent.

Elon Musk is getting closer to his ultimate goal, the trip to Mars. As the atmosphere on the Red Planet is relatively thin, it will be somewhat difficult to land a large mass spacecraft. Perfecting the art of landing will be to his advantage when facing possibly hazardous atmosphere conditions.

SpaceX has also announced that they plan to send a Dragon capsule to Mars. The Falcon Heavy rocket, which will carry the capsule, is programmed to have the first test by the end of the year.

The company is not strictly depending on the Falcon Heavy Rocket on this mission, as the engineers are trying to create a capsule that will be able to land itself on the planet’s surface.

Elon Musk’s project was first seen as an eccentricity. Now, the company has more than 4,000 employees that work on multibillion-dollar contracts for commercial satellites orbit launches and NASA cargo missions.

The Kid-Sized Tesla Model S Is Now Available For Pre-Order

The kid-sized Tesla Model S is now available for pre-order and it sure looks really cute.

The kid-sized Tesla Model S is now available for pre-order and it sure looks really cute.

The tech press has an announcement to make: the kid-sized Tesla Model S is now available for pre-order and it sure looks really cute.

It is time to envy the little ones, because this new launch is dedicated entirely to them.  Last week, a company called Actev debuted the Arrow Kart, an extremely smart go-kart with a top speed of 12 miles per hour. This week, Tesla’s getting into the mix with a tiny Model S made by Radio Flyer, the 99-year-old company known for its bright red wagons and tricycles.

The ‘Model S for Kids,’ as it’s being called, is basically a scale model of Tesla’s popular electric sedan. It’s made for children ages three to eight and has a weight capacity of 81 pounds, and tops out at 6 miles per hour. The speed can be limited to just 3 miles per hour with the flip of a switch, much like how Power Wheels operate.

Another interesting fact is that the Model S for Kids charges in just three hours, and also utilizes swappable batteries. This is something that Tesla has had trouble with on the real Model S. In addition to all the foregoing, the model costs $500.

Very similar to ‘the real’ Tesla form, there are also some bells, whistles, and customizable options. The new model comes with working headlights, a front trunk and a sound system with an auxiliary cord input. The cars can be outfitted in ‘authentic Tesla Model S colors’ like Deep Blue Metallic, Midnight Silver Metallic, or Red Multi-Coat.

Extras like personalized license plates, spare batteries, and a Tesla-branded car cover are all available, too: $15 for the Tesla-branded license plates, $25 for the parking sign and $50 for the indoor car cover. Adding all of that together, parents can quickly end up paying about $800 for the full option Tesla car.

However, even with those features, the Model S for Kids is a much less exciting toy compared to the Arrow, according to the experts. The Arrow model is smarter, more stylish, and comes with some pretty powerful safety features like collision avoidance and geofencing. It’s also twice as fast, which means Tesla finally made a Model S that will not win every race, for once.

The Tesla Model S for Kids is now available for preorder off of Radio Flyer’s website, with shipping planned for May of this year. It is surely the perfect time for an adorable drive with the top down.

All in all, raising a generation of environmentally-aware children starts with this. Thanks to Radio Flyer, the kids can have their very own Tesla Model S this spring. Rumor has it there are many ‘junior clients’ waiting in line to buy a Tesla Model S and to cruise around the neighbourhood with it.

Tesla Shares Mounted Up After Third Quarter Report: Increased 2 Cent

November 6, 2014 By Brian Galloway Leave a Comment

Telsa motors thrid quarter report

Tesla Motors shares mounted up shortly after the company announced its third quarter results. The electric car makers’ third quarter report smashed all the predictions of analysts.

Teslaa experienced a great loss in the third quarter report. Immediately after this report the company announced the overall reduction of next year’s deliveries. The sales of the third quarter were around 7,785 that are to some extent less than the predictions of the CEO.

Shortly after the release of third quarter report the shares of the company ascended up to 7 percent. The American based car manufacture stated that it earned nearly $3 million. This amount is relatively better than the loss of third quarter.

However, the revenue of the third quarter is still more than the entire profit of last year. The third quarter reported $852 million whereas the previous year’s profit was $431 million.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla informed that the major problem of the company is its production.  He repeated the aim of the company to produce nearly 100, 00 vehicles till the end of 2015.

Moreover, Musk notified that the company invested around $350 million in order to boost the capacity.

Matt Delorenzo, the editor of Kelley Blue Book stated that Telsa needs to display considerable growth in order to remain on the top of the stock market. The upcoming Model X is the center of expectations of all the investors.

Tesla Revealed Details About The Upcoming Superfast, Autopilot “D Model”

October 12, 2014 By Brian Galloway 2 Comments

NASDAQ: TSLA, Tesla Motors Incorporation has recently planned to reveal the details of some of the new vehicles. The electric car manufacturer’s top priority is mythical Tesla Model D.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA), appeared at a special event, at Hawthorne Airport in Los Angeles on Thursday, and finally put an end to the mystery of the ‘D’ by confirming that it stands for ‘dual’, as in a dual – motor. This particular feature of the vehicle will enable it to reach pretty impressive speeds along with the lots of other information disseminated during the LA event.

Bananas

Elon Musk, one of the most charismatic and extrovert CEOs, who certainly wasn’t pulling any punches while describing the qualities of the Tesla Model D. Musk announces at the event that “this car is nuts. It’s like taking off from a carrier deck. It’s just bananas.” He also likened the Model D to a “personal roller coaster”, indicating that the acceleration it produces is “intense”. Can the vehicle live up to such exaggeration?

Powerful Engine

Tesla Model D has been fitted with an extremely powerful engine. The appearance of the car is similar to the formerly launched Model S, but this model certainly packs punch in the power department. The Tesla Model D comes with the dual- motor engine, which enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. This is considerably faster than its cousin Model S vehicle. It also has the ability to reach the speeds of around 155 mph (250 kmh), which is 25 mph (40 kmh) higher from previous vehicles.

In short, this appears to be the fastest car produced by Tesla, and in reality one of the fastest sedan vehicles that has ever been manufactured. While putting it acceleration capacities into perspective, it has been declared that it’s far superior than Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, which is a very impressive technical achievement.

Safety Features

Tesla Inc has also declared that the Model D is packed with safety features as well as power. The vehicle includes a raft of innovative features intended to ensure that all drivers and passengers become safe while riding it.

Moreover, the Tesla Model D also includes a radar that allows the vehicle to see through the fog and snow, an image recognition camera capable of seeing and understanding traffic signs, lights and pedestrian and a full 360-degree ultrasonic sonar system. Furthermore, the Tesla Model D is an extremely intelligent vehicle incorporating a smart-system that receives all information from sensors with real-time GPS, navigation and traffic systems. This feature eventually makes Model D a safe car to drive, but also an intuitive one.

Autopilot

After discussing the impressive safety features, another standout feature of the vehicle is its autopilot capability. Musk told, we are planning to include this feature in upcoming Model S cars, though the Tesla Model D is efficiently the prototype for this radical function.

Of course, the Model D car is not yet ready to pilot itself on open roads. It’s not just the system included in the vehicle, which is unable to do that presently, but regulations will not allow this too. Though, the autopilot doesn’t seem quite impressive. Tesla Company themselves has named this feature as “Model ’s brain”, and it is not too whimsical to suggest this.

Radars & Sensors

Tesla Model D’s autopilot feature utilizes a forward-mounted radar, along with a camera and a system of 12 sensors, which gives the vehicle a sight range of 16 feet. The overarching autopilot system is connected to steering, brakes and GPS. The intent is to improve safety, but to enhance the driver experience as well.

This impressive technology enables the car to detect and avoid pedestrians and stop the vehicle in order to avoid collisions. Elon Musk stated that, the Model D has the capability of sensing small children or dogs, even when driven at its fastest speed.

In addition, when the driver sets off a turn signal, the vehicle has the ability to change lanes on its own violation. Whereas, if the driver is drifting outside lane of traffic, Tesla Model D autopilot feature would automatically steer the vehicle back to the appropriate position. Lastly, the sensors in the vehicle are also capable of reading speed limit signs, and adjusting the vehicle accordingly.

Tesla’s Model D acquires a tremendously inspiring skill set, even if for the old-fashioned among us it may seem slightly strange!

Parking

Apart from the Autopilot features, vehicle also provides Autopark facility too. If you get out of the Model D car in front of your own home, the vehicle will automatically do everything on its own.

Price and Release Date

The Tesla Model D car will go on sale in December, with the most expensive P85D Model casting just over $120,000. More affordable 60kWh and 85kWh battery models will follow in February next year, with prices starting at $75,070 for the 60D and $85,070 for the 85D.
