Google Wants to Bring a Worthy Rival for Amazon’s Alexa VA

March 27, 2016 By Chen Lai Leave a Comment

google virtual assistantGoogle is allegedly developing an Amazon Echo-similar venture in a separate division of the company. This project does not receive any help from Nest, which is the firm that it has bought for its developments in the intelligent home industry for over $3 billion.

Even if Google owns Nest right now, it is not supporting the search engine in its efforts to create what is generally known as the opponent for Amazon’s Echo assistant. There are many reasons for the company to try such a daring project in the domestic appliance segment.

The home section is predicted to become the next major market to enter into the technical scenery in only a couple of years. But Amazon’s platform has already gained a first advantage here thanks to its Echo line of intelligent gadgets.

What might cause a problem for the search giant is that Echo’s major success at this time even if Amazon is not going at full throttle. However, since all elements above could have persuaded Google to step into this segment as well, what is interesting is the way in which they have collaborated in performing the venture.

According to the media, Google is using its major resources to face its Echo rival, even denying Nest’s requests on being involved in the process. It is hard to understand Google’s strategy and if this is a lack of assurance about Nest’s capabilities or if this venture is too important to leave it for others.

What is obvious is that interaction between these two organizations appears to have become a tad dysfunctional. In any case, Nest has usually waited to make a practical series of product for Google. For example, tasks like Flintstone, which is an alarm system hub centered on Pinna scanners, are still being developed.

The firm’s Project Goose allows for heat range changes in the thermostat using the owner’s location too but that is not ready yet either. The fault is often said to be their lack of ability to lock up the design elements of its devices soon enough.

Other problem is represented by the business modifications that Nest discovers in following buying of Dropcam. Anyway, the reality is that the company does not possess the technology prepared promptly in the majority of these cases.

Meanwhile, it could be exciting to observe how Google manages its ad-centered queries as searches themselves are evolving into new sections and gadgets.

When it comes to Amazon’s Echo, the variety right now includes a smart house hub and the mobile speaker. These items are complemented by a pair of devices, the Amazon Tap and Echo Dot, and all their performances are based on Alexa,  the company’s intelligent VA.
