Kodak Alaris revealed its intentions to go into the public networking area this week, with the presentation of a renewed Kodak Moments mobile application. The company revealed the software on the starting day of Texas’ SXSW conference held this week.
The application is deliberately linked to the popular concept of “Kodak moments” with the memories and appreciation for the past that these remembrances bring, the officials said. One factor that differentiates the service from the rest of social networking apps, such as Facebook or Twitter, is represented by the privacy functions.
The organization considers that the renewed app will allow customers to manage precisely who could view their material and does not show annoying advertisements. Even if you are allowed to limit who sees your posts on Facebook, their privacy features are hard to get around and the giant social network does offer ads and client information to promoters, Kodak’s representatives say.
However, they stated that Kodak would not provide client information to third-party companies who are interested to use them for commercial purposes. Some tech experts who prior tested the app like the general appearance of the service, but state that today’s social networking industry is highly competitive and it is very hard to take businesses and users away from leaders like Instagram.
It is an extreme thing to crack into this crowded market, unless you have something truly different to offer and stand out among competitors, they said. The company’s officials affirmed that Kodak does not plan to be a competitor for Instagram or Facebook since it does not have their business power.
Instead, it will concentrate on the industry market of sharing precious moments between loved ones. There is a segment for Instagram, Kodak said, but they think there is another niche for Kodak’s new app too.
Kodak Moments provides customers all of the options needed to add their text stories to pictures, and to modify photos and text. Besides other options, customers will be capable to print pictures as collages, cards or photo books.
The Kodak Moments application is now available for downloading on Apple’s App Store on iOS gadgets. Current app customers may get the newest upgrades to access these new functions, while an edition for Android operating gadgets will be offered these months. Until then, you can record all your precious memories with family, friends or other close people and store them for Kodak’s upcoming app.
