Word Flow pack word prediction functions and swipe-like movements for word composition.
It is pretty obvious Microsoft’s intention on bringing its products to other platforms. Of course, it’s not only profitable, but it also feeds the tech giant’s intention of seeing every device hanging out a sign saying “Thank you, Microsoft.” It would seem that the company is on the move again. According to recent rumors, Microsoft wants to bring Word Flow to other platforms.
So, what’s Word Flow and when did all these rumors start? According to the definition provided on Microsoft’s official web page, it would seem that Word Flow is a nifty instrument capable of helping you compose messages at a faster speed.
Still doesn’t ring a bell? Then let give you more details about the gadget. The complete name of the instrument is Microsoft Word Flow virtual keyboard, and, according to the tech giant, the option was made available for phones running Windows 8.1.
Furthermore, the instrument relies on word prediction and swipe-like movements. Yes, you guessed it! Word Flow, Microsoft’s newest addition to Windows 8.1, bears a striking similarity to Android’s Swype keyboard application.
So, what’s so special about Word Flow, apart from its name? From what we can guess, the application is capable of doing basically the same things as Swype. But there is one particular difference between the two applications.
It would seem that Word Flow packs a better word recognition engine than Swype. Furthermore, back in 2014, there was a dude who actually manage to break the world record for the fastest text written with a virtual keyboard, using Microsoft’s application.
Now, coming back to our initial subject, it would seem that those rumors appeared to be quite true. Microsoft is indeed planning of expanding its operations, and it seems that the first platform which will receive this application will be iOS. Probably Microsoft will want to move ahead with its plans to bring the app to other platforms, but for now, the tech giant is concentrating on iOS.
Unfortunately, the tech company did not disclose a timetable for the application, meaning that we do not know when the application will be available for iOS compatible devices.
Microsoft wants to bring Word Flow to other platforms and it plans to start with iOS. If all goes according to plan, we might witness the dissemination of the app to other platforms as well.
The tech giant’s move is also confirmed by a mail received by Windows Insider user, in which Microsoft extended its invitation to a beta testing session of the application.
