Researchers of NASA marked the drought of 1934 as the worst that occurred roughly 1,000 years ago. The experts of space agency reported that it was the era of extreme temperature, dust storm and economic reduction.
On the whole, the human actions and alterations in atmospheric condition generated this destructive incident.
Scientist of Lamout Doherty Earth Observatory and NASA explained in detail the complete obliteration caused by that particular drought. The panel examines the tree rings of the time period of 1000 A.D to 2005 with previous weather records. The data helped them in analyzing the one of the most harmful draughts emerged in the history of the world.
The group reported that the Dust bowl of 1934 damaged nearly the 70 percent region of Western North America. Unfortunately, it disturbed the land to a large extent as compared to all the previous drought. The heavy dust particles even stopped the sunlight and the entire process of the creation of cloud. Moreover, it decreases the precipitation level in the air.
On the other hand, the second largest drought emerged in 1580 which was 30 percent less terrible than this one.
The study is printed with a title of The Worst North American Drought Year of the Last Millenium.
