The famous Metal Gear Solid series has been in the market for a long time and the last title in this franchise was Phantom Pain. The new E3 trailer for the game appeared in the summer of 2015 and looked amazing, according to those who have seen them.
The original MGS game released in Sept 1998 for Sony’s PlayStation gaming system and the design were very different from the newest sequels in the series. According to the latest articles appeared in gaming media, Shadow Moses is cancelled, so no one understands the reason behind this decision.
For people who do not know yet what this project is, here are some details. Almost two decades ago, Konami launched a refined gaming activity for PS1, but at the time, its creators did not know that their title will become a huge hit over the years.
In reality, thanks to the numerous reviews from both experts and the gaming community, the studio decided to release another four installments to the very first title, the last being the unusual Pain. Fans of this incredible game made the decision to create their own remake of Metal Gear Solid based on Unreal Engine.
This remake could have unveiled all the stories that fans liked in the original MGS with much enhanced design. Unfortunately, this unofficial remake is terminated due to logistic reasons. The venture was named Shadow Moses, so everything that fans know for sure is that people behind the project affirmed that it is impossible to complete it in the necessary time.
Some fans will perceive it as a venture that was cancelled without any real base, but at the moment, the actual reasons for the termination is unidentified. The group behind this idea has affirmed that other explanations will be arriving later these weeks.
Looking at the project in a reasonable manner, the termination is not surprising at all. The probability of any important game publisher letting other people to remake a title from scratch, even if the benefit is not engaged, is thin.
Reviews also show that Project Moses was not a group of specialists each with their own task, but the initiative of an individual. Remaking a whole title based on Unreal Engine is surely not a job for just a single person. If someone missed the game trailer for Metal Gear Solid’s new installment, it might be worth seeing it juts for pure nostalgia.
