NASA just posted an update on its official website, reminding its readers that the zodiac has changed, an additional, thirteenth sign being added to the roster. Now that there are thirteen zodiac signs, the dynamics of the old astrological map have also suffered quite a few alterations.
According to spaceplace.nasa, back in ancient times, people were not yet able to fully understand the vastness of space and how the planets connected with each other, but they did map everything that they were able to see with the naked eye and tried to make sense of all the data.
Even though their technology was vastly inferior, the Babylonians were able to recognize all thirteen constellations, but because the year only had 12 months, they decided to create only 12 zodiac signs that bore the name of the stars.
Ophiuchus was left behind in the name of equilibrium, but its omission still didn’t stop the zodiac signs from crossing in the next month.
In order to repair the oversight, NASA recalculated the zodiac, also including Ophiuchus. The new and improved zodiac looks something like this:
Capricorn: January 20 – February 16
Aquarius: February 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11 – April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – August 10
Leo: August 10 – September 16
Virgo: September 16 – October 14
Libra: October 14 – November 23
Scorpio: November 23 – November 29
Ophiuchus: November 29 – December 17
Sagittarius: December 17 – January 20
Astrologists already drew the portrait of the Ophiuchus native, and it’s not that different from the one of the Scorpio. According to the specialist, Ophiuchus natives are as charismatic and sexual alluring as Scorpios, but they are also jealous and passionate.
Another great trait of the Ophiuchus is the ability to interpret dreams so that natives could find a psychologist’s job as a great fit.
However, Tali Edut, a well-known astrologist, is comforting those who believe that their zodiac sign has changed. According to her, Ophiuchus is not a new concept in the field, it’s just new to the Tropical, or Western astrology that is common in these parts of the worlds.
There are other astrologists who practice Vedic, or sidereal, which include the thirteenth sign, but they are not as many as those initiated in the art of Tropical astrology.
