West African state declared a three day lock down in Sierra Leone. The State announced it in an attempt to stop the worst outburst of the history.
Ernest Bai Koromar, the president requested people to observe the emergency measures. Presently, health workers dressed in a protective biohazard suit, examine each and every house.
On the other hand, Radio stations are repeatedly playing Ebola awareness jingles in order to persuade resident to stay in the houses.
Mariam Bangura, a resident stated that they are really praying hard to get rid of this deadly Ebola Virus. This three day lock down compelled residents to watch the deserted streets of the city from their windows.
The only vehicles visible on the streets are cars of police and ambulances. Emergency vehicles, visit houses where patients are needed to be hospitalized.
Almost 30,000 health works along with volunteers and teachers will try to touch every household till Sunday. Their chief aim is to spread awareness related to Ebola to the six million people of the country.
Whereas, The Freetown team has to wait a long time to get hold of the equipment such as soap, stickers and flyers.
This year, nearly 5,357 people suffered from the virus only in West Africa. As per the reports of World Health Organization, Ebola primarily affected Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia and killed 2,630 people.
The disease was first discovered in the forests of central Africa in 1976. After that it is reported as the worst outbreak.
United Nations on Thursday stated that it will plan a special mission for this disease. The mission is named as the “threat to international peace and security”.
Ban Ki moon, the Secretary General told the United Nation Assembly that this disease showed that no one is safe from it. Therefore, every country should take part in the eradication of this disease.
