There are countless discrepancies in the quality of life that people have in various parts of the world and there are a great many things that we take for granted. But there is one item that we all have access to that we are clearly underestimating.
That is the toilet that we use it every day and yet the only time we realize just how important it is to us is when there isn’t one in reach.
While we do out best to keep our toilet activities as private as possible, there are too many people out there who still have to do their business out in the open, in nature, where they are exposed and where they cannot clean themselves properly.
This eventually affects their lives significantly, because it is so easy for them to contaminate their homes, their food and their clean drinking water with dirty hands and dirty feet.
And by eating the contaminated food and drinking the contaminated water, they can get sick from a wide variety of diseases that could even prove deadly to them.
This is why programs for the development of toilets and latrines are just as important as the ones aiming to provide clean water.
