As opposed to previous games in the series, Resident Evil 7 is, first of all, a horror game and an action game second. Hence, players will need good knowledge of weapons in order to survive the Baker estate. However, to put skill to good use, one must first find the weapons hidden within the game.
The main character is equipped by default with a hatchet. Players will use this first weapon to protect themselves against an angry opponent. Unfortunately, once the prologue reaches a conclusion, the hatchet will also disappear. At this point, nobody figured out how to retrieve it. However, there is no need to worry since the game is packed with other weapons, more useful than a hatchet.
The M19 handgun also makes an appearance during the prologue, but it is shortly taken away from the character. However, it is possible to get it back by using the repair kit on the broken handgun players will find in the trailer located in the yard. The repair kit lies just across the trailer under the porch, behind a metal sheet that players can easily pry off.
How much useful the M19 can be, nothing compares with the Albert handgun. The weapon is most likely a reference to Resident Evil series’ villain Albert Wesker and is without a doubt the most powerful one in the game. Unfortunately, players will only be able to use a powered-up version only during the final boss fight. However, slightly weaker versions will be available after the fight is won in any storage box.
The game is also packed with remote bombs after the character goes through the tanker flashback. The will prove to be a most welcomed addition to the player’s inventory throughout the game, so make sure to collect as many as possible.
While most weapons can be found searching the cabinets or any areas that appear to hold some secrets there is one extremely powerful melee weapon, in particular, that is nowhere to be found: the circular saw. Also, most likely there are many more other weapons still undiscovered in Resident Evil 7. For now, the best piece of advice would be to get the Albert handgun and never let go of it.
