What is New in Android Marshmallow 6.0?

Android-6.0-Marshmallow

Google has released the final version of Android Marshmallow 6.0, the latest edition of its mobile OS that was announced earlier this year. Perhaps the most important function in this upgraded version is Google Now on Tap. This option gives you quick details gathered from the search engine and indications towards appropriate content. Such indications are offered based on the content found in various applications and on what is shown on the gadget’s display.

If you own a Nexus product that has Android installed on it, like the 5, 6, 9 or Player model, you will be able to use the new function from now on thanks to its instant update. All you have to do is installing the Marshmallow 6.0 over-the-air (OTA). To get the upgrade, start the Setting menu, choose “About product” and then press “System up-dates”.

If the feature is not available yet, you can flash the Marshmallow 6.0 factory image directly onto the Nexus system. The upgrade will be released for other Android OS gadgets later this month.

After Marshmallow is set up on an Android mobile device, you can open Google Now on Tap from your apps by pressing the home key (the button at the end of the display) for more than three seconds. A white border will appear around the sides of the device, informing you that Google is looking for and identifying items being shown on its screen.

You will see the results above the white line at the bottom, with the company’s re-branded “G” logo. The device can present you details about people, locations and films, among other useful stuff.

When you are looking at the latest posts in your Twitter app, where info about many topics is introduced in its timeline, it is interesting to press Now on Tap and notice what changes in it. You could end up studying about diverse topics that re completely new to you.

And, when you are reading a text that informs you about particular places, it is awesome to quickly choose a map of the place that is being described. Just press the Google Maps symbol for that particular place in the Now on Tap feature.

Without this function, you have to close the present app and start Google Maps to look for the respective place. You will even have to return to the application where you discovered the place and then go back to Maps to be sure that you have written it right.

If you are checking content in an application like Feedly and notice information about an artist, you can see various links to its music, album collections and events. These details usually appear in cards in the Knowledge Graph when you are searching on PC.

Integration with album loading applications set up on the product, like Spotify and Rdio, would be an outstanding improvement. If you want details about the performers heard on an application, Now on Tap offers links to public information on their social networks, results from queries from the search engines and so on.
