The era of computerized wristwatches go, with the arrival of Apple Watch which looks striking.
The Apple Watch comes in two sizes, so that the watch won’t seems big on smaller hands, as some competing watches do. Apple is a champ in providing a range of straps and materials, so fitness buffs can get a strap that’s stronger and sweat-proof. If you are looking for a fashion accessory, then you may also opt for Apple’s 18-karat gold edition.
Beyond looks, the great thing about this Watch is that it works like Smartphone. The Watch OS is the specially designed operating system and its interface relies heavily on the dial to the right, called as the digital crown. Competing watches lean to highlight the voice and touch controls systems available on phones.
The Apple Watch comes with the home screen and the apps are set in rows similar to a honeycomb. You can use the watch dial to zoom in and choose the app you are interested in. With the help of the touch screen, you can slip the honeycomb around to glimpse different portions of your app collection. Apple Watch offers the easier way rather than swiping on a small screen to scroll through pages and pages of apps. Likewise Apple phones, you can even rearrange apps so that your favorite ones are toward the middle in the Apple Watch too.
Apple Watch has another great feature in which App developers will be able to decide what types of notifications appear on your watch and then you can easily respond by replying to messages. This seems to be the great development over existing smart watches, which mostly repeat the notifications sent to your phone. To stay persuasive, the Apple watch should not duplicate your phone but rather it should improve it.
When you use the watch dial to zoom in and out, Apple claims that it helps to enhance usability since you are not jamming maps and other content on the screen the way pinching in and out would. That makes sense, though I’ll need more time with the watch to assess how well the dial works on its own. With your home screen, for instance, you still need the slide apps around.
Apple reports that there are some other useful features of the watch as well which includes the ability to unlock your Starwood hotel room with a tap of your watch. In fact it seems quite easier than pulling out your room key from your wallet.
Undoubtedly, Apple has a good track record in making good apps for its systems. Many apps come to iPhones and iPads first, and a number of them have bonus features which are not available on Android. If the Apple watch style continues, no doubt clientele will find more useful things to do with it than the already available smart watches.
Apple Watch will want an iPhone 5 or later and will have a starting price tag of $349, which is higher than competitive watches. If you want to pay even more, then you may go for the 18-karat gold edition and other premium models. If you have decided to buy the Apple Watch, you need to wait till early next year as it is not available in time for the holidays.
