Recently, a group of chimpanzees found prowling in the fields of the National park of Uganda at night. Later on, the apes that consist of both female and infants ran away in the Ugandan forest again. The group nearly emerged every night in a group of eight chimps.
Chimpanzees are basically a daytime animal. They never move at night as they have to protect themselves from leopard, which is the biggest predator of chimps. These animals usually hunt for food in the moonless nights as they need to be safe themselves from the farmers as well.
The chimps have been caught on camera almost 14 times in the total time period of 20 days. The researchers of Museum of Natural History in Paris along with the Uganda Wildlife Authority captured this incredible footage.
The experts arranged their camera on every boarder of the park since they did not want to miss any single chance.
The footage is an evident sign of the impact of human pressure on the habits of chimps. These alterations in the habits are indeed a dangerous sign. The courage of chimpanzee astonished researchers to a great extent. Although the chimps stayed only for a short time period, but still it is really odd according to their usual habits.
Moreover, some of their gestures displayed signs of nervousness like scratching, moving in a relatively faster manner.
The report is printed in the Journal Plos One.
