As the election day is rapidly approaching, the candidates are revealing their teeth, tackling uneasy subjects. That is exactly what happened during the third and final debate when Clinton’s feminist beliefs were brought to the surface while the candidates spoke about planned parenthood and women’s abortion rights.
The third debate was more heated than the previous one, the candidates being asked more detailed questions about their policies. During the talks, they were also asked more sensitive questions. As tradition dictates, a politician must always tip-toe around a controversial subject as not to upset the voters, but the Democrat candidate released her inner feminist, attacking Trump and his male-dominated fantasy world head-on.
When the discussions reached the matter of planned parenthood, especially abortion rights, and late-term abortion rights, the two candidates proved that they could never be more different. While the GOP nominee kept talking about how women should have a signed consent form from the father of the child to get an abortion, Clinton unleashed her inner feminist, elaborating and eloquent, empowering argument that destroyed her opponent.
Republicans are known to be pro-life activists, several Republican-dominated states closing down Planned parenthood clinics making women in need travel as far as another state to get the procedure. If Trump wins the elections, he plans on making the process even more challenging, a defining sign of a male-dominated society.
However, Hillary Clinton is a woman that, back in 1990 stood up on an international stage and argued that there shouldn’t be a distinction between male and female rights. She is a feminist, and while she led a cautious campaign, she could not tone down her speech when matters of women’s rights were discussed.
The Democrat nominee argued with the Republican candidate, explaining why some women are forced to get a late-term abortion due to life-threatening medical complications. She insisted that an abortion is the hardest decision that a woman can make in her life and the government should not make things harder.
Clinton Used the Opportunity to Call Out Her Opponent
Fueled by her opponent’s misogynistic remarks, Clinton carried on with the debate and called out Trump’s recent abuse allegations. She showed that she is outraged by her opponent’s attitude towards women, arguing that she, too, knows how it feels to be a woman in a man’s world.
Even though Clinton is riding the polls as a professional surfer rides a tamed wave, she chose not to play safe during the last debate. The Democrat demonstrated that if elected president, she will make the life of women easier because she is the most qualified individual to talk and defend women’s rights.
Did you watch the third debate? What do you think about Clinton’s feminist beliefs and the arguments that she presented to Donald Trump?
