U.S. Jobless Claims Drop by 10000 to Hit a 14-Year Low

November 6, 2014 By Jason Leathers 1 Comment

US-jobless-claims-drop-by-10000-to-hit-a-14-year-low

As per the recent reports revealed, fewer people have applied for the unemployment benefits in the U.S. last week, which is a sign that the job market continues to improve.

“ The weekly applications fell 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 278,000. The four-week average, a less volatile measure, declined 2,250 to 279,000, the lowest level in more than 14 years,” Labor Department said Thursday.

These applications are a substitute for layoffs and have fallen 18.5% in the past year, which implies rising economic confidence among businesses, causing them to keep their workers and potentially look to hire more employees.

Jesse Hurwitz, a Barclays research economist, wrote via e-mailed analysis, “The Labor Department noted no special factors in this week’s report. The continued downward trend for initial and continuing claims is consistent with solid labor market improvement; though, given that this week’s report corresponds to the period after the survey week for the October payrolls report, our forecast for nonfarm payroll gains of 225,000 in tomorrow’s report remains unchanged.”

The turn down in applications is overlapping with stronger hiring this year.

In 2014, employers have added an average of 227,000 jobs a month, up from an average of 194,000 last year. Over the past year, employers have added 2.64 million jobs, the best showing since April 2006. The unemployment rate has fallen to 5.9%, a six-year low.

As per the Friday’s report, 230,000 jobs were added in the month of October, economists say. The rate of unemployment is projected to hold stable.

Payroll Processer ADP said Wednesday, U.S. companies added 230,000 jobs in October. The result was the highest in 4 months and an indication that businesses are still willing to hire in spite of slow growth signs overseas. Normally, job gains above 200,000 are enough to lower the unemployment rate.

Still, the improvement in hiring has yet to translate into higher wages. Average wages have grown slightly faster than inflation. According to Sentier Research Median, annual household income at $54,045 remains 4.6% lower than incomes when the recession began in late 2007.

The government’s job report on Friday revealed a healthy pace of hiring. The ADP numbers cover only private businesses and sometimes diverge from the government’s more comprehensive report.

According to a survey by FactSet, economists predict that the government’s report will show that all employers, including government agencies, also added 230,000 jobs in October.

The job gains in the ADP report were broad-based: Construction firms added a solid 28,000 jobs last month, while manufacturing gained 15,000 positions. Professional and business services, which include mostly higher-paying positions such as accountants and engineers, gained 53,000.

Regardless of some hiccup in economic growth, hiring has been strong this year. In 2014, employers have added an average of 227,000 jobs a month that puts this year on pace to be the strongest year for job creation since 1999.

Since 1983, Fastest Growth In Carbon Dioxide Recorded, Highest in 2014

September 9, 2014 By Jason Leathers Leave a Comment

The World Meteorological Organisation presented a report which demonstrated that the concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased at the fastest  rate since 1983. This concentration of gas sets a new record  between the year of 2012 and 2012.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) stated that it drew attention of the concern authorities towards the requirement of a global climate agreement.

carbon-dioxide

The WMO’s Greenhouse Gas statement is released every year and record the rate of warming gases in the atmosphere. However, the report does not determine the discharge of these gases fro  power station.  Trees, see and living organism utilize nearly half of the emission.

Nevertheless, the report showed that the quantity of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere touched 396 parts per million in 2013. It indicates a rise of around 3ppm over 2012. Michel Jarraud, the General Secretary of the WMO  expressed that the concentration of gas is continuously mounting instead of declining.

The level of carbon dioxide  is now 142 percent, which is similar to the rate of 1750 before the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.  However, some analyst states that the global warming has paused due to which the  average global temperature is not increasing in the same way.

Nevertheless, Oskana Tarasova, chief of the atmospheric research division commented that climate doesn’t move in a straight motion.  It is not essentially displayed through the temperature of the atmosphere, but if we closely examine the temperature profile of the ocean  it is evident that the heat is going into the ocean.

9 September 2014, tonight all the US citizens and the rest of the people in the globe are now able to see the rare and unusual Supermoon. The distance from the Earth to the Moon will be 359.1 thousand. Km. This is the last Super Moon of this year. This will be the third Supermoon in this year, earlier in this summer, most of the moon could be seen twice – on the night of 10 to 11 August and from 11th to 12th of July.

According to NASA, these days the moon looked 14% bigger and 30% brighter. So tonight, the moon is reaching at its full phase at the spot in the sky opposite from the sun. Today’s full moon is the one closest to the earth and can be seen at 9:38 p.m. EDT. According to the NASA’s reports that September’s full moon will cap a trio of back-to-back “supermoons” for the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Although we relate the Harvest Moon with autumn, this year’s report stated that it is in fact the last full moon of the fall season so the Super Moon rises tonight, so if you want to see the Super Moon then you should use a high magnified potent telescope, people from all over the world organized events and activities to observe the Super Moon. The weather is clear and no clouds in the sky tonight, according to the weather report then go out and check out the amazing view of the Moon.

What is a Harvest Moon?

The Harvest Moon is the full moon, the Harvest Moon isn’t always larger, brighter or more pumpkin-colored than other full moons, but this time it’s unique because this year Harvest Moon present in the Northern Hemisphere at a short time lag, this short time lag is the version of the Super moon. This effect arises from the fact that the moon’s orbit is not circular, but elliptical. At this stage a Harvest Moon is a slightly larger than standard size of the moon, so it’s a super Moon and very close to the earth.
