A group of Sweden scientists claimed that doctors can make use of stem cells in order to heal the Parkinson’s injuries.

Parkinson’s disease occurs due to the loss of dopamine cells in the brain. Dopamine is a hormone which plays a vital role in the functions of human brain and body.  Generally, it controls all the emotional reactions and movements of a human being.

Thus Far, experts have failed to find any proper treatment for this disease. Doctors usually prescribe some particular medicines which slow down the development of this disease. Brain stimulations can decrease the symptoms of this ailment in some patients.

The new research from Lund University demonstrates that stem cells can make an entire new group of dopamine cells. These cells will act as if they are the native dopamine cells.

The experts carried out the experiment on rats to observe the result of this study. They inserted these hormones into the brains of rats. Later on, they discovered that the damage cause by the shortage of dopamine cells is cured. These new cells carried out all the functions and characteristics of dopamine neurons.

Moreover, the researchers informed that they intend to test this on a human brain in 2017.

Malin Parmar, the lead author of this report stated that it is indeed a big step towards the treatment of this disease.
