U.S. Jobless Claims Drop by 10000 to Hit a 14-Year Low

As per the recent reports revealed, fewer people have applied for the unemployment benefits in the U.S. last week, which is a sign that the job market continues to improve.

“ The weekly applications fell 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 278,000. The four-week average, a less volatile measure, declined 2,250 to 279,000, the lowest level in more than 14 years,” Labor Department said Thursday.

These applications are a substitute for layoffs and have fallen 18.5% in the past year, which implies rising economic confidence among businesses, causing them to keep their workers and potentially look to hire more employees.

Jesse Hurwitz, a Barclays research economist, wrote via e-mailed analysis, “The Labor Department noted no special factors in this week’s report. The continued downward trend for initial and continuing claims is consistent with solid labor market improvement; though, given that this week’s report corresponds to the period after the survey week for the October payrolls report, our forecast for nonfarm payroll gains of 225,000 in tomorrow’s report remains unchanged.”

The turn down in applications is overlapping with stronger hiring this year.

In 2014, employers have added an average of 227,000 jobs a month, up from an average of 194,000 last year. Over the past year, employers have added 2.64 million jobs, the best showing since April 2006. The unemployment rate has fallen to 5.9%, a six-year low.

As per the Friday’s report, 230,000 jobs were added in the month of October, economists say. The rate of unemployment is projected to hold stable.

Payroll Processer ADP said Wednesday, U.S. companies added 230,000 jobs in October. The result was the highest in 4 months and an indication that businesses are still willing to hire in spite of slow growth signs overseas. Normally, job gains above 200,000 are enough to lower the unemployment rate.

Still, the improvement in hiring has yet to translate into higher wages. Average wages have grown slightly faster than inflation. According to Sentier Research Median, annual household income at $54,045 remains 4.6% lower than incomes when the recession began in late 2007.

The government’s job report on Friday revealed a healthy pace of hiring. The ADP numbers cover only private businesses and sometimes diverge from the government’s more comprehensive report.

According to a survey by FactSet, economists predict that the government’s report will show that all employers, including government agencies, also added 230,000 jobs in October.

The job gains in the ADP report were broad-based: Construction firms added a solid 28,000 jobs last month, while manufacturing gained 15,000 positions. Professional and business services, which include mostly higher-paying positions such as accountants and engineers, gained 53,000.

Regardless of some hiccup in economic growth, hiring has been strong this year. In 2014, employers have added an average of 227,000 jobs a month that puts this year on pace to be the strongest year for job creation since 1999.

Even though, all businesses and schools located in the Lewis County region have been encouraged to paint the county pink and the concerned entities can get their membership forms at the Lewis County General Hospital’s website www.lcgh.net . October Declared Blood Moon Month: Seeable In Australia During Total Lunar Eclipse

October 6, 2014 By Jason Leathers Leave a Comment

australian-blood-moon-lunar-eclipse

Always an event people flock outside to see at night, this Wednesday, October 8, there will be a total eclipse of the Moon seen from several western states. This will be the last eclipse of the year 2014. Visible by the naked eye, the show will start at 1:15 a.m. Until 6:33 a.m. Pacific time.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon and Earth’s shadow covers the Moon. It’s a slow, gradual procession especially during a full Moon. In a Blood Moon scenario like this, the colors of the Moon will look rusty red due to the way dust and light are filtered through Earth’s atmosphere.

The sky show for October doesn’t end but ramps up again on October 23 for North America when there will be a partial eclipse of the Sun. This eclipse will begin around 1:40 p.m., as the New Moon starts taking a bite out of the circle of the Sun. Around 3 p.m., the sunlight will be dimmed as 60% of the Sun is occluded by the passing Moon. The show will end around 4:25 p.m.

Aussies will see their lunar eclipse from 9:25 p.m. To 10:25 p.m. AEDT.

Watching the Moon or the Sun needs caution. The Moon via a telescope needs a filter as it is reflecting light from the Sun. As for the Sun, one should never, ever, look directly at it as it could cause irreversible damage to the eyes. There are special glasses, telescopes, binoculars and other ways to watch the solar eclipse coming up that are safe and won’t harm you.

Astronomy is fun and should remain that way. These celestial events should be enjoyed by friends, family, professionals alike. Maybe have a party or get together and just enjoy the fun the sky delivers.

Apple’s Upcoming Event on October 16 Shows Possibility of the Most-Rumored iPad Air

new-ipad-plan-to-launch

Recently, Apple has veiled the launching of its newest iPad that is about to come out possibly on Oct 16th. Moreover, the users are not just puffed up about the iPad that is about to be launched but, the tech giant might be planning to launch its latest OS (Operating System) known as OS X Yosemite and perhaps a new iMac computer too. The upheaval comes out weeks after the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and the first iWatch showing that Apple is hell curved on achieving immense deeds in 2014.

According to the reports revealed, in the first week of launch, Apple sold 10 million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. Though, on the other hand, the sale of the present iPad (which was launched back in 2013) starts declining and fanatics wait for the California-based company to endeavor and offset this trend.

The official reports revealed that the latest iPad is coming with the Touch ID fingerprint scanning systems, which is similar that the Apple has been using on its iPhone’s since they launched their earlier model, the iPhone 5S). Well, this seems to be a brilliant add up, particularly since the Apple has been attempting to get users to espouse the Apple Pay mobile payment platform.

In the meanwhile, tech giant states that, there is no better way of compelling users to the payment platform than by integrating touch ID into as many devices as possible.

Certainly, some people are expecting that, tech giant would not be updating its iPad mini and with the launch of iPad Pro, Apple will succeed in pushing back as of the iPad Air launch.
