Nadella faced severe criticism for his comment regarding the women in technology. The CEO of Microsoft stated in a meeting that women in technology should trust the “system” instead of asking questions about their raises.
Nadella gave this statement when someone asked him a question in a recent conference. The actual question was to give a brief advice to the women who are looking for a raise.
As soon as the CEO stated that all the women who work in the arena of computing strongly condemn the statement.
Maria Klawe, a very important member of Microsoft’s board immediately challenged Nadella on this statement. Klawe said that it is the only thing on which he disagrees with her boss.
Shortly after that conference the entire social media began to crack jokes and made fun of this statement.
Afterwards Nadella tried to mend the damage and tweeted that his statement was misunderstood. He meant to proclaim that raises should be devoid of any gender discrimination.
Furthermore, the CEO, accepted that there is a minor error in the memo, which the company released on the official website of Microsoft.
The conference was organized in Phoenix, Arizona and its chief purpose to honor the women in computing.
